Psalm 68:19-20 May the Lord be praised!
Day after day He bears our burdens;
God is our salvation.Selah
20 Our God is a God of salvation,
and escape from death belongs to the Lord God. Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

As we head of to worship today, these verses from Psalm 68 give us some reasons for praise. Start with this "day after day He bears our burdens". Day in, day out, in sickness and in health, in poverty or wealth, He is the one that we need to turn to with our hopes, fears, and praises.
We've recently considered what it means that God is our salvation. The "Selah" calls us to stop, meditate, and think calmly about that. Yes God is our salvation. The verse speaks of escaping death. We may be delivered from death for a time or times during our lives, but we will all experience physical death. But the escape that is spoken of is permanent, eternal. It points to eternal life.
Perhaps, you will sing the following Christmas hymn today in church, or out loud or in your mind right now, but the call is to bring your hopes and fears to Him, and worship Christ as King, to His glory, now and forever.
Saints, before the altar bending, watching long in hope and fear; suddenly the Lord, descending, in his temple shall appear: (Refrain)
Come and worship, come and worship, worship Christ, the newborn king.
In Christ,
Mike

Psalm 68:17-20
New Living Translation (NLT)
17 Surrounded by unnumbered thousands of chariots,
the Lord came from Mount Sinai into his sanctuary.
18 When you ascended to the heights,
you led a crowd of captives.
You received gifts from the people,
even from those who rebelled against you.
Now the Lord God will live among us there.
19 Praise the Lord; praise God our savior!
For each day he carries us in his arms. Interlude
20 Our God is a God who saves!
The Sovereign Lord rescues us from death.
