Verse of the Day 8/4
1 Peter 1:3-4 ?? Celebrate with praises the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has shown us his extravagant mercy. For his??fountain of??mercy has given us a new life???we are reborn to experience a living, energetic hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 4??We are reborn into a perfect inheritance that can never perish, never be defiled, and never diminish. It is promised and preserved forever in the heavenly realm for you!???????? The Passion Translation (TPT)
I receive an email each day which is "Word of the Day", it is sent out to (hopefully) improve and expand our vocabulary.?? Yesterday's word was "ineffable" - too big or extreme for words to express; not to be spoken of due to its sacredness; indescribable.?? Then I read a "Grace Gems" devotional which was in relation to today's verses and it quoted Charles Spurgeon in regards to the passage.
Spurgeon writes, "O Christian, within a very little time you shall be rid of all your trials and your troubles. Your eyes which are now suffused with tears, shall weep no longer. You shall gaze in ineffable rapture upon the splendor of Him who sits on His glorious throne.???? Nay, more--you shall sit with Him upon His throne!
The triumph of His glory shall be shared by you! His crown, His joy, His paradise--these shall be yours! You shall be co-heir with Him who is the heir of all things! " What a coincidence, you think? Reading the verses should bring great joy; indescribable joy; unspeakable joy to the Christian. Do they do that for you? The final words in the chorus of the Casting Crowns song "Thrive" came to mind.
Where many a dream has died
We never will run dry
God we thirst for more of You
Fill our hearts and flood our souls
With one desire
We lift Your name on High
Shine like the sun made darkness run and hide
We know we were made for so much more
Than ordinary lives
It's time for us to more than just survive
We were made to thrive
Joy Unspeakable, Faith Unsinkable, Love Unstoppable, Anything is possible?? (Casting Crowns - "Thrive") After reading the verses above; Spurgeon's quote and the words from the song "Thrive", how would you describe your joy today?

6??In this you greatly rejoice, though now??for a little while, if need be,??you have been??[b]grieved by various trials,??7??that??the genuineness of your faith,??being??much more precious than gold that perishes, though??it is tested by fire,??may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,??8??whom having not??[c]seen you love.??Though now you do not see??Him,??yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,??9??receiving the end of your faith???the salvation of??your??souls.
