Verse of the Day 4/9
Luke 24:6New King James Version
Luke 24:6
New King James Version
6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,
Happy Easter everybody. He is risen, He is risen indeed! I chose the New King James Version for today's verse because it says "He is risen", not has risen. They both mean the same thing but "is" speaks of the present, continuing action.
Ever since our children were little, on Easter Sunday the first thing that our kids heard was teh "Glad" accapella versiion of "In the First Light". We still listen to it every year and Jeff excitedly sings along word for word. It is a song of celebration. Little kids celebrate by searching for Easter eggs. We celebrate by singing praise and being reminded that He is coming again.
Read the words to the song as a celeberation this monring. He is risen, He is risen indeed. But how much greater will our song be, how much greater will our celebration be when He comes again.
In the first light of a new day
No one knew He had arrived
Things continued as they had been
While a new born softly cried.
But the heavens wrapped in wonder
Knew the meaning of His birth
In the weakness of a baby
They knew God had come to earth.
As His mother held him closely,
It was hard to understand
That this baby not yet speaking
Was the Word of God to man.
He would tell them of His kingdom,
But their hearts would not believe
They would hate Him and in anger
They would nail Him to a tree.
But the sadness would be broken
As the song of life arose
And the First born of creation
Would ascend and take his throne.
He had left it to redeem us,
But before His life began
He knew He'd come back not as a baby
But as The Lord of ev'ry man.
Hear the angels as they're singing
On the morning of His birth
But how much greater will our song be
When He comes again to earth
When He comes again
Hear the angels as they're singing
On the morning of His birth
But how much greater will our song be
When He comes again to Earth
When He comes to rule the Earth!
When He comes back, When He comes back
To rule the Earth!
No one knew He had arrived
Things continued as they had been
While a new born softly cried.
But the heavens wrapped in wonder
Knew the meaning of His birth
In the weakness of a baby
They knew God had come to earth.
As His mother held him closely,
It was hard to understand
That this baby not yet speaking
Was the Word of God to man.

But their hearts would not believe

They would nail Him to a tree.
But the sadness would be broken
As the song of life arose
And the First born of creation
Would ascend and take his throne.
He had left it to redeem us,
But before His life began
He knew He'd come back not as a baby
But as The Lord of ev'ry man.

When He comes again
Hear the angels as they're singing
On the morning of His birth
But how much greater will our song be

When He comes to rule the Earth!
When He comes back, When He comes back
To rule the Earth!
Blessings,
Mike

Luke 24:5-7
New King James Version
5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.' "
