Verse of the Day 6/3

Psalm 67:1  (ESV) May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face to shine upon us,     Selah

My devotional reading in the psalms this morning brought me to Psalm 67.  I read this as I was sitting on our back porch on this cool, clear, morning.  The air was cool but the warmth of the sun was shining on me as I read the verse.  Just as the sun warmed me, His Word warms our hearts even when the sun may not be shining.  We can experience this even as a dark cloud may be looming in the distance.

In preparation or as a part of worship this morning.  Take a few minutes to think about how God has been merciful and gracious to you.  How has His face shone upon you recently.  The word selah is an interlude.  It is put there to remind us to pause and think about what was just said.

Think about how His Word has influenced you this week and be prepared to praise Him in Worship today.

Shine on Us  - Philipps, Craig & Dean

Lord, let Your light
Light of Your face
Shine on us

Lord, let your grace
Grace from Your hand
Come over us

Lord, let Your love
Love with no end
Come over us

That we may be saved
That we may have life
To find our way
In the darkest night
Let Your love come over us
Let Your light shine on us

In Christ,
Mike

and guide the nations upon earth. Selah
