Verse of the Day 7/16
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Friends and Family Give Strength
9??Two people are better than one,
????????because they get more done by working together.
10??If one falls down,
????????the other can help him up.
But it is bad for the person who is alone and falls,
????????because no one is there to help.?????? New Century Version (NCV)
In Sunday's post we considered the testimony and witness for Christ of Paul and Silas while they were being held in jail.???? They gave a good example of what King Solomon wrote about back in the book of Ecclesiastes.?? The NCV translation which I quoted above; gives the heading "friends and family give strength".?? Has this held true in your life? Facing life's challenges with someone alongside of us can help us have courage, and also show wisdom in dealing with those challenges.
Our Pastor Bob, in his sermon on Sunday, said that "everyone has a platform".?? This platform will not be constant, but there is a platform for you to speak and to testify of God's love and provision for you in the place that you have been planted.?? Paul and Silas' platform was speaking to a jailer while in jail and because of their actions they were able to witness to his whole family and bring them to salvation in Jesus.
Where do you find yourself today, what friend or family member do you have beside you??? May each of you be lifted up today.?? There is joy in serving Jesus, especially when you have friends and family to encourage you along the way.
There is joy in serving Jesus
As I journey on my way
Joy that fills my heart with praises
Every hour and every day
There is joy, joy
Joy in serving Jesus??
Joy that throbs within my heart
Every moment, every hour
As I draw upon His power
There is joy, joy
Joy that never shall depart

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12??New King James Version (NKJV)
The Value of a Friend
9??Two??are??better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10??For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him??who is??alone when he falls,
For??he has??no one to help him up.
11??Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;
But how can one be warm??alone?
12??Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
