Verse of the Day 6/6
John 15:26-27. "When the Counselor comes, the One I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me. 27 You also will testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning. Holman Christian Standard Bible
Today's verses came up today in the read through the New Testament plan that I follow. It speaks of the Holy Spirit, sent to us by the Father who testifies about Jesus. He speaks to us through His Word and in prayer. As the Holy Spirit guides and directs us and we follow, we too are testifying about Jesus and our faith and trust in Him.
The verses remind us that as we walk, as we live our lives putting our faith in Him that we realize that Jesus is with us and He has been there with us through all of life's ebbs and flows, the ups and downs.
I'm reminded of some of the words to the current contemporary Christians songs, "There Was Jesus".
On the mountain, in the valleys (There was Jesus)
In the shadows of the alleys (There was Jesus)
In the fire, in the flood (There was Jesus)
Always is and always was
No I never walk alone (Never walk alone)
You are always there
In the shadows of the alleys (There was Jesus)
In the fire, in the flood (There was Jesus)
Always is and always was
No I never walk alone (Never walk alone)
You are always there
In the waiting, in the searching
In the healing and the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute (Every minute), every moment (Every moment)
Where I've been and where I'm going
Even when I didn't know it or couldn't see it
There was Jesus
In the healing and the hurting
Like a blessing buried in the broken pieces
Every minute (Every minute), every moment (Every moment)
Where I've been and where I'm going
Even when I didn't know it or couldn't see it
There was Jesus
May you experience this in your life and be able to look back and say "there was Jesus". It will be evidence that the Holy Spirit testified to this and our lives themselves will be a testimony of Jesus and His love.
