Verse of the Day 7/19
Proverbs 3:5-6New International Version5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Proverbs 3:5-6
New International Version
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,and he will make your paths straight
Notice the verse says in "all your ways". It is all encompassing, it is in regards to every aspect of life. We should base decisions on God's Word, His timeless truths. His Word will not steer you wrong, instead, it will point you down the right path for your life, now and forever.
I'm reminded of the old hymn "On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand". The words that popped into my mind were "but wholly lean on Jesus name". Jesus was the word incarnate, made flesh. You won't go wrong by following what He said and taught. The gospels contain the teachings of Jesus and if you want a place to start, you might try reading the "Sermon on the Mount" in Matthew 5 -7 and submit to what He says. He will straighten your path. Those other philosophies are "sinking sand".
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus' name
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus' name
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
Blessings,
Mike

Proverbs 3:1-6New King James VersionGuidance for the Young
3 My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
2 For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you.3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
4 And so find favor and [a]high esteem
In the sight of God and man.5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [b]direct your paths.
