Verse of the Day 1/28
Proverbs 8:34-35New International Version
Proverbs 8:34-35
New International Version
34 Blessed are those who listen to me,
watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.
35 For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the Lord.
it's a picture of personal devotions, carving out time each day, starting the day out right and then as we go out we can expect to find life and blessing from the Lord.
This "watching and waiting" reminded me of the lines from the last stanza of "Blessed Assurance" below. May we start the day doing so as well and then be praising our Savior all the day long.
1 | Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine; Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. |
This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long. | |
2 | Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels descending, bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. |
3 | Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Savior am happy and blest; Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. |
Blessings,
Mike
