Verse of the Day 3/8

Psalm 145:8-9

New King James Version

8 The Lord is gracious and full of compassion,

Slow to anger and great in mercy.
9 The Lord is good to all,
And His tender mercies are over all His works.

Today's verses came up in my daily reading in the Psalms this morning.  Though the calendar doesn't indicate that spring is hear, here in North Caroline many trees are blossoming and floweres are blooming.  The grass (at least in my yard) is green and growing fast. The other indicator of spring is that tonight we will be moving the clocks ahead an hour for daylight savings time, yeah!

Today's verses tell us what we should already know, the Lord is good to all.  Everybody experiences the renewal and the wonders of spring.  But for those who know and love the Lord they also experience His great love, and His great mercies every day, by His grace.  It is not from something that we do or have done.  That too should cause us to marvel at His love, compassion, mercy and grace to us.

There's the wonder of sunset at evening,
The wonder as sunrise I see;
But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul
Is the wonder that God loves me.

O, the wonder of it all! The wonder of it all!

A Praise of David.

145 I will [a]extol You, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is [b]unsearchable.

4 One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
5 [c]I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty,
And [d]on Your wondrous works.
6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts,
