Verse of the Day 1/3

Verse of the Day 1/3

Today's verse is a good one for the beginning of the year, a reminder to leave behind the things of the past, the old things that can bring us down and focus on what lies ahead, and as Christians focus on what Christ has for us.

When I read this verse this moring I was reminded of The Message paraphrase from Psalm 51:10-12

Don't look too close for blemishes,
give me a clean bill of health.
God, make a fresh start in me,
shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life.
Don't throw me out with the trash,
or fail to breathe holiness in me.
Bring me back from gray exile,
put a fresh wind in my sails!

I love that statement, "make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life". Good word for the start of the year.  It's a new day, a new year just beginning.  May the Lord put fresh wind in your sails to accomplish what He has for us.

New Life in Christ! Abundant and free!
What glories shine, what joys are mine,
What wondrous blessings I see!
My past with its sin,
The searching and strife,
Forever gone, there's a bright new dawn!
For in Christ I have found New Life!

Blessings,
Mike
