Verse of the Day 1/5

Verse of the Day 1/5

As I was finishing yesterday's post from Matthew 44 about "man shalll not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God", today's verse came to mind. If we are living "by", "according to", following God's Word we will know what is good, what the Lord asks of us and the key is "but to do", to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly WITH your God. It is not for one day of the week but every day that ends in Y, all of them.

How has God shown you what is good?  It is not limited to the 10 commandments, but we should know what is good and prayerfully consider how we apply His word in our lives.  It is more than just wearing a WWJD, what would Jesus do bracelet on our wrist. Before we can know what Jesus would do, we need to know what He did, what He said, what He commanded. If you are still unsure about something, you cannot go wrong by following what Jesus said in Mark 12.

The world, our world will be a better place if each of us put this into practice today. May we resolve to do so.

1 I am resolved no longer to linger,
charmed by the world's delight;
things that are higher, things that are nobler,
these have allured my sight.

Refrain:
I will hasten to Him,
hasten so glad and free;
Jesus, greatest, highest,
I will come to Thee.

2 I am resolved to go to the Savior,
leaving my sin and strife;
He is the true one, He is the just one,
He has the words of life. [Refrain]

3 I am resolved, and who will go with me?
Come, friends, without delay;
taught by the Bible, led by the Spirit,
we'll walk the heavenly way.

Blessings,
Mike
