Verse of the Day 11/4

Through the Bible - Jeremiah 42-43, Hebrews 4:14-5:10

 

Good morning,

AS a parent, it is an amazing thing to watch your children or grandchildren grow.  From crawling, to walking to riding their first two wheeler each milestone touches our hearts.  Its even more amazing to see them develop skills and maturity as they begin to consider who they will be.  Its most amazing and rewarding to see them develop, grow and mature spiritually.

 

For today's verse we'll go to Ephesians chapter 3 to a passage that should be read and considered regularly to make sure that we are "walking circumspectly" as mentioned yesterday.  It can also be a prayer for our children that God may "awake their souls" to Him and settle down, making a permanent home in their hearts.
 

Ephesians 3:17-18 (Amplified Bible) May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, 

 ¹⁸That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];

Our hearts and prayers follow our kids and we hope and pray that they will experience the breadth, length, height and depth of Gods love in their lives.  The song "Across the Miles" from Aaron Jeoffrey captures the feeling.

 

A part of me goes with you
Even if you journey far
You'll never be forgotten
No matter where you are

Across the miles, please remember
When I can't be there
I will send my heart to you
Upon the wings of prayer

Across the miles, may God keep you

For His love will reach across the miles

May your life be a blessing

If your kids are still home with you let them know that they are blessed by God and are a blessing.  If they are miles away, say a prayer or send a note to them today that incorporates the heart of these verses.

 ^14-19My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth. I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you'll be able to take in with all followers of Jesus the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God
