Isaiah 60:1-2 Amplified Bible (AMP) 1ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! 2For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you.
Psalm 30:5 says that "weeping may tarry for the night but joy comes in the morning". If you've been through the dark night of the soul you've experienced "tarrying" there, perhaps for a season or longer. But when you've been delivered from the situation, physically or spiritually, you come away with a renewed sense of life Coming out of the darkness we may feel that life has been restored, we are revitalized, refreshed, and renewed.
The psalmists and the prophets knew this and experienced this feeling. At times it came apart from their physical circumstances. They were able to be renewed and refreshed spiritually even though the outside circumstances hadn't changed. But their perspective had.
Pastor Bob's message yesterday revolved around Ephesians 5:15-6. One of my favorite verses is verse 15 in the NKJV which calls us to walk "circumspectly", having our eyes wide open to all that is going on around us. It involves seeing God's hand in it. With this perspective we may feel like we're born again. The words from the Third Day song "Born Again" came to mind.
I was lost when you found me
And I was broken beyond repair
Then you came along
And you sang your song over me
It feels like I'm born again,
It feels like I'm living,
For the very first time,
For the very first time in my life
For me, the song expressed the emotion of the verses, God's calling to rise and shine, out from under the circumstances to let His light shine. The words had to do with the nation, but they started in the heart of the prophet, coming from the heart of God.
Blessings,
Mike

Isaiah 60 Amplified Bible (AMP)
1ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life]!
3And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
4Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms.
5Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy [at the glorious deliverance] and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the [Dead] [a]Sea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures.
