Verse of the Day 5/12 Isaiah 30:15 (ESV) For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, "In returning[a] and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength." How many of are in need for strength for today? How many of us could use a little rest and quietness this weekend or any time these days? The bigger question or should I say the place to find the answers to these sometimes perplexing questions is in the Lord God. We've been considering worship these last few days. Returning to God seeking Him in answers to many of lifes questions in itself can be an act of worship. A familiar praise and worship song in this generation contains the following lines that fit with this verse. I'm coming back to the heart of worship, And its all about You, all about You Jesus. I'm sorry Lord for the things I've made it, When its all about You, all about You Jesus. Let your thoughts linger on these things today and this weekend. In returning and resting God is our salvation. In quietness and trust; faith, shall be your strength. But you were unwilling, 16 and you said, "No! We will flee upon horses"; therefore you shall flee away; and, "We will ride upon swift steeds"; therefore your pursuers shall be swift. 17 A thousand shall flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you shall flee, till you are left like a flagstaff on the top of a mountain, like a signal on a hill. The Lord Will Be Gracious 18 Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. |
