Isaiah 64:1 (ESV) Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down
that the mountains might quake at your presence
that the mountains might quake at your presence
Have you ever felt that way, that you wished the Lord would come to reveal Himself again? For Isaiah it was a look back to His appearance to the people in Sinai when He appeared to Moses on the mountain. He rallied His people, brought them together and then led them through the wilderness.
When we see the "chaos" all around us in society, the tumult and the disregard and actual contempt towards God it is easy to feel that way.
The verse and thoughts brought to mind the song "God of Heaven Come Down" - Robbie Seay Band
All things bright and beautiful You are All things wise and wonderful You are In my darkest night, You brighten up the skies A song will rise I will sing a song of hope Sing along God of heaven come down Heaven come down Just to know that You are near is enough God of heaven come down, heaven come down All things new I can start again Creator, God Calling me Your friend Sing praise, my soul To the Maker of the skies A song will rise
God of heaven come down
Heaven come down
In Christ,
Mike

Isaiah 64:1-4English Standard Version (ESV)
64 Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down,
that the mountains might quake at your presence
2 as when fire kindles brushwood
and the fire causes water to boil
to make your name known to your adversaries,
and that the nations might tremble at your presence!
3 When you did awesome things that we did not look for,
you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence.
4 From of old no one has heard
or perceived by the ear,
no eye has seen a God besides you,
who acts for those who wait for him.
