Verse of the Day 8/2

Romans 1:11-12   For I am yearning to see you, that I may impart and share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen and establish you;  12 That is, that we may be mutually strengthened and encouraged and comforted by each other's faith, both yours and mine.  Amplified Bible (AMP)

In this day and age it is a common thing to pull up roots and move to a different town, state or even country.  Doing this will mean leaving friends and family behind.  Thanks to "social media" and e-mail we can reconnect with some of these friends.  We may still yearn or long to see them to be able to sit down and spend some time looking back on old times and catching up with what God has done in our lives and to strengthen, encourage and comfort one another.

Recently, I've been able to reconnect with some of these "old friends" through "social media".  It is good to hear how God is working in their lives, reconciling, healing, and opening doors of opportunity.  We may not know when we'll be able to see such friends but we do know that such a day will come.

  1. Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,
    Sing His mercy and His grace;
    In the mansions bright and blessed
    He'll prepare for us a place.
    • Refrain:
      When we all get to heaven,
      What a day of rejoicing that will be!
      When we all see Jesus,
      We'll sing and shout the victory!
Perhaps it  is a day to search out and catch up with an old friend for an update and to sing the wondrous love of Jesus, of His mercy and His grace.  We may not be able to get together with them anytime soon, but we can trust that He'll prepare for us a place.

In Christ,
Mike

10 always in my prayers, asking that somehow by God's will I may now at last succeed in coming to you. 11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— 12 that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
