Romans 1:20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification], Amplified Bible (AMP)
As you can probably tell from recent postings, we'll be spending some time in the book of Romans, today we'll stay with chapter 1. Reading this book brings visions of David looking up at the stars in Psalm 8 and declaring "what is man that you are mindful of him". With modern science how much more should we be in awe of Him today when we can use a microscope to see the design in nature and the telescope to see the design in the heavens. It is not random, it is not chance. As with all of life God creates, He has a plan and a purpose for each of us.
For David, seeing God in His creation, and knowing Him personally meant everything to him. God still reveals Himself in His creation. Those who don't seek Him are still without excuse.
Reading the words "His handiworks" in the Amplified Bible reminded me of the song from my childhood, written by Ralph Carmichael in the 1960's "He's Everything to Me".
In the stars His handiwork I see
On the wind He speaks with majesty
Though He ruleth over land and sea
What is that to me?
I will celebrate Nativity
For it has a place in history,
Sure, He came to set His people free,
What is that to me?
Till by faith I met Him face to face,
and I felt the wonder of His grace,
Then I knew that He was more than just a
God who didn't care,
That lived a way out there and
Now He walks beside me day by day,
Ever watching o'er me lest I stray,
Helping me to find that narrow way,
He's everything to me.
Truly, the heavens and all of His creation, all of life, declare the glory of God. What does it mean to you?
In Christ,
Mike

Romans 1:19-21
Amplified Bible (AMP)
19 For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them.
20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification],
21 Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and [a]godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.
