Verse of the Day 3/1

Verse of the Day 3/1

Romans 10:14-15
New International Version

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Today is March 1st.  The calendar may not say it, but here in North Carolina the temperatures and all creation sings that spring has arrived.  My lawn is totally green, daffodils are poppling, pear trees are blossoming and mangnolias are putting on a display. They don't need a calendar, their coming back to life after winter is a testimony that new life has come to them, they are bringing the good news of spring to anyone that is paying attention.

What about us, what is our life showing to others?  Are we showing the new life in Christ that we have in our lives?  Are we sharing the good news with anyone that will pay attention, who needs to see rebirth and renewal, revival in their lives?

Pastor and author Greg Laurie writes, "The word "beautiful" can be translated "lively." So in this verse, beautiful feet speak of something in full bloom. Think about a blossoming flower. That is the picture the apostle Paul paints here. If you want lively feet, if you want a spring in your step, then share the gospel. In fact, I honestly believe that a key to personal revival is to share your faith."

If you have new life in Christ, put it on display.  Share the good news.  In doing so, perhaps someone else will find new life.

New Life in Christ! Abundant and free!
What glories shine, what joys are mine,
What wondrous blessings I see!
My past with its sin,
The searching and strife,
Forever gone, there's a bright new dawn!
For in Christ I have found New Life!

Brighter the journey each day,
Tho there is much to dismay;
Heaven awaits - Bright pearly gates,
There at the end of the way.

Come with your sin-burdened heart,
Christ will his cleansing impart;
He will forgive - in him you'll live,
O how the joy bells will start.                (New Life In Christ - John Peterson)

Blessings,
Mike

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.  NIV

Romans 10:9-15
New International Version

If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, "Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame."[a] 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."[b]

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
