Verse of the Day 6/2

John 14:6

New King James Version

6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

For today's verse we return to the Gospel of John for the 6th of Jesus' "I am" statements.  It is a key verse and passage in the Bible.  Jesus states unequivicably that He is "The way", not one of many. It goes along with His statement "I am the resurrection and the life, do you believe this"?

The passage starts off John 14 which tells us of the place that Jesus is preparing for us.  It also encourages us to believe in Him and not to be troubled when we face life's challenges.  He is there for us, will be with us, and will raise us up to be with Him in the place prepared for all of His children.

God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive
He lived and died, to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives

CHORUS:
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone

Just because He lives

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

14 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father's house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, 

I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know."

5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?"

6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
