Verse of the Day 11/3

Colossians 1:11-12 Amplified Bible (AMP) 11[We pray] that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy,  12Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God's holy people) in the Light.

Maybe it is a part of growing older, but I can't remember a time when I've had so many friends that are facing serious health trials.  For some, trials are just starting, others are in the midst of the storm, while still others have weathered the worst of the storm and are looking to brighter days.

Today's verses come from today's New Testament reading in Colossians 1 where Paul offers up a prayer to the recipients of his letter, then and now, that they be strengthened and encouraged in their walk, growing and bearing fruit in their lives, having the endurance and patience to walk with Him through the trials, through the storms.  Precious Lord take their hands...

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

My prayer for each of them today is that they may be invigorated and strengthened by God's grace no matter where they are in the trials.  And also, that they would put their trust in God and His steadfast, loyal love.

Psalm 33:20-22 English Standard Version (ESV)

 20Our soul waits for the LORD;
he is our help and our shield.
21For our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
22Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us,
even as we hope in you.

In Christ,
Mike

Colossians 1:9-14 English Standard Version (ESV)

9And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
