Verse of the Day 2/7
Romans 10:15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" English Standard Version (ESV)
When I think of feet I don't generally think of them as being beautiful. I have images in my mind of hammer toes, bunions, corns or other maladies. Pastor and author Greg Laurie helps to break down beautiful as it conveyed here, he writes, "The word "beautiful" can be translated "lively." So in this verse, beautiful feet speak of something in full bloom. Think about a blossoming flower. That is the picture the apostle Paul paints here. If you want lively feet, if you want a spring in your step, then share the gospel. In fact, I honestly believe that a key to personal revival is to share your faith."
Now can you picture a time when someone approached you with good news? Someone bringing news of the birth of a child or grandchild; a successful surgery or any other type of good news. The deliverer of the message likely had a spring in their step a smile on their face or a glint in their eyes indicating; before they even reached you; that they were bringing good news.
In yesterday's passage from Habakkuk the Lord answered the prophet and said "make it on plain tablets that he may run who reads it". It is the picture of a messenger sent out to deliver a clear message; one of good news and of hope. That messenger would have had a spring in his step.
What about you, do you have a good word to share with a friend or loved one? An old song from Sunday school many years ago brings these things together.
May we watch and be ready for the good news and then go and tell it to somebody, tell the story of what Christ has done for you, with beautiful feet, those that have a spring in their step.

Romans 10:14-18 New King James Version (NKJV)
Israel Rejects the Gospel
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
"How beautiful are the feet of those who [a]preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!"
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?" 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed:
"Their sound has gone out to all the earth,
And their words to the ends of the world."
