Verse of the Day 12/26

Verse of the Day 12/26

1 John 5:10-12
New International Version

10 Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

We have just celebrated Christmas and the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, who emptied Himself, took on flesh and brought us salvation through His death and resurrection.  It is one thing to celebrate it is another thing to truly believe, to live by faith in the only who who can bring us eternal life. Verse 10 above is a sobering one.  Those who do not believe, put their full trust in Him make Him out to be  a a liar.

As you step out into the world today, believe in His testimony. Whoever does has the Son and has eternal life and you are "fully blessed". (see below)  Nothing can take that away from you.

  1. Come, every soul by sin oppressed,
    There's mercy with the Lord,
    And He will surely give you rest
    By trusting in His Word.
    • Refrain:
      Only trust Him, only trust Him,
      Only trust Him now;
      He will save you, He will save you,
      He will save you now.
  2. For Jesus shed His precious blood
    Rich blessings to bestow;
    Plunge now into the crimson flood
    That washes white as snow.
  3. Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,
    That leads you into rest;
    Believe in Him without delay
    And you are fully blest.

Blessings,
Mike

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.  NIV

1 John 5:6-12
New International Version

This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the[a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. We accept human testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.
