Verse of the Day 12/6

Verse of the Day 12/6

Romans 8:24-25
English Standard Version

24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

In yesterday's post we considered how we will be "presented" as blameless before the throne through the blood of Jesus which was shed for us. Verse 23 below states that we groan in this world waiting to be adopted and for the redemption of our bodies.  It is this hope that is referenced in today's verses above.

As we age and face trials and illnesses the challenges of this world can seem insurmountable but because of Jesus and His promises, His word, we can have faith.  We don't see it tangibly, but we wait in hope..

This same feeling is conveyed in Hebrews 11, that great "Hall of Faith"  which expresses it clearlly.

Hebrews 11:1-2
English Standard Version

By Faith

11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation.

The "commendation" mentioned at the end of verse 2 reminds me of being "presented" referenced yesterday in Jude 24. What does this mean to you?

Redeemed—how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am.

Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, redeemed,
  His child, and forever, I am.
2
Redeemed and so happy in Jesus,
No language my rapture can tell;
I know that the light of His presence
With me doth continually dwell.
3
I think of my blessed Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long;
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song.
4
I know I shall see in His beauty
The King in whose way I delight;
Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,
And giveth me songs in the night.

lessings,
Mike

Romans 8:22-30
English Standard Version

22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because[a] the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,

 for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
