Verse of the Day - weekend

Through the Bible - Saturday- Exodus 32-33, Matthew 24 , Sunday Exodus 34-36, Matthew 25
Good morning,
For this weekend's verse we'll return to the book of Psalms to Psalm 111 which is a psalm of praise for His Faithfulness and Justice.
Ps 111:1-2
111 Praise the Lord!
I will praise the Lord with my whole heart,In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.
2 The works of the Lord are great,Studied by all who have pleasure in them. NKJV

Verse 1 speaks of "praising Him "with my whole heart", it should remind us of Matt. 22:37 where we are called to "love the Lord with all your heart".
Anyone who is a true student of the Word will have the same realization as the psalmist in verse 2 that the "works of the Lord are great".
The second part of that verse is what I'd like you to consider today. Do you "take pleasure" in the Word and His works? If you truly do it should mean that you take the time to study, learn, to know the Word and more importantly the God of the Word.
Read the same few verses from "The Message".
Ps 111:1-Hallelujah!I give thanks to God with everything I've got
— Wherever good people gather, and in the congregation. God's works are so great, worthA lifetime of study — endless enjoyment! Splendor and beauty mark his craft; His generosity never gives out. His miracles are his memorial —
My hope and prayer for myself and for you is that we would continue to study, to have a lifetime of study that wont be drudgery, but endless enjoyment as we glory in "the splendor" of the King.
How Great is Our God - Chris Tomlin
The splendor of a King Clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice All the earth rejoice
He wraps Himself in light And darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end Beginning and the end
The Godhead Three in One Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb The Lion and the Lamb

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see How great, how great is our God

Name above all names Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me
How great is our God, and all will see
How great, how great is our God

Praise Him this weekend as you consider "How Great is Our God".
In Christ,
Mike
Ps 111:1-112:1Hallelujah!I give thanks to God with everything I've got — Wherever good people gather, and in the congregation. God's works are so great, worthA lifetime of study — endless enjoyment!

Splendor and beauty mark his craft; His generosity never gives out. His miracles are his memorial —

This God of Grace, this God of Love. He gave food to those who fear him,He remembered to keep his ancient promise. He proved to his people that he could do what he said:Hand them the nations on a platter — a gift! He manufactures truth and justice; All his products are guaranteed to last — Never out-of-date, never obsolete, rust-proof.All that he makes and does is honest and true: He paid the ransom for his people,He ordered his Covenant kept forever. He's so personal and holy, worthy of our respect. The good life begins in the fear of God — Do that and you'll know the blessing of God.His Hallelujah lasts forever!
