Verse of the Day 10/10

Verse of the Day 10/10

Philippians 4:9  The things which you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of peace and well-being will be with you.

Amplified Bible (AMP)

As I read today's verse in my read through the New Testament plan the peace that it speaks about is what caught my attention.  Read the passage below, it speaks of not fretting or worrying, it speaks of praying to God, praising Him and filling our minds with good, true and noble things.

Take a look at the world around us.  Don't look too hard or it can bring you down, but realize that there is a better way than all of the rancor, anger and craziness that is going on.  Turn it off and turn to God, The Message says, " Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down."  That settling down is the peace that comes from following the verse and the passage's advice for life.

David Jeremiah writes, " Eat well to be well physically. But more importantly, feed your heart on the Word of God and that which honors Him (Philippians 4:8-9)."

Philippians 4:9  The things which you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of peace and well-being will be with you.

Amplified Bible (AMP)

What have you learned, received and seen in Christ?  Put them into practice and see the change that will take place.

Philippians 4:4-10 The Message (MSG)

4-5 Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you're on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute!

6-7 Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
