Verse of the Day 8/13

Romans 4:4-5  Now to a laborer, his wages are not counted as a favor or a gift, but as an obligation (something owed to him). But to one who, not working [by the Law], trusts (believes fully) in Him Who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (the standing acceptable to God).  Amplified Bible (AMP)

Today's verses tell us that if our desire it to be in right standing before God, it is something that we cannot do on our own,  we can't work for it to the point that we will have earned it.and that God owes us something.  Our salvation, our righteousness, our right standing comes to us as a gift if we will accept it in faith.

While we are on the throne of our lives we won't find true satisfaction, peace, lasting joy or possibly be right with God.  But if we come to Him in faith, a wealth of things are offered to us.

Pastor James Smith writes:

"The carnal mind may find something like pleasure in carnal things--but real, solid, lasting joy, cannot be found, never has been found by the sinner, until converted to God. Carnal pleasure is empty, fleeting, and unsatisfactory in its very nature.

The true Christian has enough to make him genuinely happy!
All of his sins are forgiven and forgotten.
He is adopted into God's family.
His person is justified before God.
He is clothed in the perfect righteousness of Jesus.
He is a child of God.
He is regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
He has the Spirit of adoption in his heart.
He is at peace with God, and God is at peace with him.

All the promises of God are his, which represent Jehovah as pledged to support, sustain, comfort, supply, and bless him in time and eternity! His God is with him. His God is for him. His God will never fail him in any trial, nor leave him under any circumstances for one moment.
May God support, sustain, comfort, supply and bless you today as you accept His gifts and trust in Him.

Blessings,
Mike

Romans 4:3-5

New King James Version (NKJV)
For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.
But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,
