Verse of the Day 6/21

Through the Bible - Esther 5-6. Acts 5:33-6:7

Good morning,
I apologize for not putting together a "verse of the day" for the past few days.  Jean and I were in Chicago to be there for our grandson Tyler's dedication and also to see my mom and dad.
A fitting verse for the weekend and any day, for that matter comes from Proverbs 17.

Prov 17:6 Children's children are the crown of old men,
And the glory of children is their father.
NKJV

I guess I've moved into that stage in life of being an "annoying" (at least to some people) grandparent, ready at just about any moment to share a picture or story of one of our two grandchildren.
It's amazing how quick they grow and also amazing to see how much like their parents they are in looks and actions.

The weekend also was a time to think about and appreciate my dad, the times we've shared, the bond we've had and the love that has grown.

As we get back to work, may we take some time to remember our kids, grandkids and grandparents.  We may glory in them, but may we also, and moreso, glory in our Heavenly Father and what he has done for us.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.   NKJV

"God saw Abraham's sacrifice and said, 'Now I know that you love me, because you did not withhold your only son from me' [Gen. 22:12]. But how much more can we look at his sacrifice on the Cross, and say to God, 'Now, we know that you love us. For you did not withhold your son, your only son, whom you love, from us.' When the magnitude of what he did dawns on us, it makes it possible finally to rest our hearts in him rather than in anything else."
