Verse of the Day - weeken 12/26

Through the Bible - Zechariah 1-6, Revelation 17

Good morning,
Many of us over the past few days have read in their Bibles or devotionals, or have heard in messages or in song from Luke 2 the message of Christmas.  Many "seekers" atteneded services to find out more about the Christ child.  For some it will end there and they'll return home and move on with their lives, they'll stop seeking stop searching.

The shepherds in Luke 2 could have heard the message from the angel but those who acted on what they heard continued on.

Luke 2:12 (Amplified Bible)  And this will be a sign for you [by which you will recognize Him]: you will find [after searching] a Baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. [I Sam. 2:34; II Kings 19:29; Isa. 7:14.]

For today's verses we'll continue on in Luke 2 in the Amplified Bible to see that they kept searching until they found Him.

Luke 2:16-17 (Amplified Bible)  So they went with haste and [by searching] found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in a manger.

17And when they saw it, they made known what had been told them concerning this Child,

Those that continued to search also made known to others what they learned concerning this child.  As we return to our "schedules" will we continue to search, to know Him more and to make Him known this coming year.

More about Jesus I would know,
More of His grace to others show;
More of His saving fulness see,
More of His love who died for me.

Refrain:
More, more about Jesus,
More, more about Jesus;
More of His saving fulness see,
More of His love who died for me.

More about Jesus let me learn,
More of His holy will discern;
Spirit of God, my teacher be,
Showing the things of Christ to me.

Blessings,
Mike

  Luke 2:11- 18 NLT  11For to you is born this day in the town of David a Savior, Who is Christ (the Messiah) the Lord!

    12And this will be a sign for you [by which you will recognize Him]: you will find [after searching] a Baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. [I Sam. 2:34; II Kings 19:29; Isa. 7:14.]

    13Then suddenly there appeared with the angel an army of the troops of heaven (a heavenly knighthood), praising God and saying,

    14Glory to God in the highest [heaven], and on earth peace among men with whom He is well pleased [men of goodwill, of His favor].

    15When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing (saying) that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.

    16So they went with haste and [by searching] found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in a manger.

    17And when they saw it, they made known what had been told them concerning this Child,

    18And all who heard it were astounded and marveled at what the shepherds told them.
