Verse of the Day - weekend 12/11

Through the Bible - Hosea 11- Joel 2, Revelation 5

Good morning,
One of my favorite hymns through the years has been "Holy, Holy, Holy".  It always brings to mind pictures of the scenes in Isaiah 6 and Revelation 4 of the angels around the throne of God.
For this weekend's verse we'll go to Revelation 4

Revelation 4:8-9 (Amplified Bible)  And the four living creatures, individually having six wings, were full of eyes all over and within [underneath their wings]; and day and night they never stop saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty (Omnipotent), Who was and Who is and Who is to come.

9And whenever the living creatures offer glory and honor and thanksgiving to Him Who sits on the throne, Who lives forever and ever (through the eternities of the eternities), 10The twenty-four elders (the members of the heavenly Sanhedrin) fall prostrate before Him Who is sitting on the throne, and they worship Him Who lives forever and ever; and they throw down their crowns before the throne,

A more modern song also captures the wonder and majesty of the scene in Revelation.  As your read some of the words to the "Revelation Song" consider the awe and wonder as expressed by Mary as she pondered all that God had done or the shepherds as they saw and heard the angels in the night sky proclaiming thed Messiah's birth.

Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of Your Name
Jesus, Your Name is power, breath and living water, such a marvelous mys- tery

CHORUS

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is and is to come
With all creation I sing praise to the King of kings
You are my everything, and I will adore You
Take some time to sing one or both of these songs in your mind or out loud as preparation for worship this weekend.

Revelation 4:11 (Amplified Bible) " Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were [brought into being] and were created."

Such a marvelous mystery indeed.
In Christ,
Mike

Eph 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace  NIV
Rev 4:6-5:1

In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

"Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,
who was, and is, and is to come."

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

11 "You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
and have their being."
