Verse of the Day 5/154

Verse of the Day 5/14

Proverbs 31:28-29Her children rise up and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many women have done excellently,
    but you surpass them all."

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there, especially those "P 31" moms and wives who are described by Solomon, the wisest person ever, in Proverbs 31.

Mother's Day is a day to honor our moms, and wives, the mother of our children for all they do every day of the year that all too often go unnoticed.  Moms will be given cards, flowers and many other gifts today but what is more important is that we convey to them the simple message of Solomon.  While outward beauty may be appreciated, it is the inward beauty, the character of a woman who loves the Lord and looks out with love for her family.

She carefully watches everything in her household
    and suffers nothing from laziness.   v.27 New Living Translation

Read through the passage below or the whole section, verses 10 through 31 and give thanks to God and be sure to give thanks and appreciation for our P-31 lives who keep things running in your household.

Proverbs 31:25-30New Living Translation (NLT)

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity,
    and she laughs without fear of the future.
26 When she speaks, her words are wise,
    and she gives instructions with kindness.
27 She carefully watches everything in her household
    and suffers nothing from laziness.

28 Her children stand and bless her.
    Her husband praises her:
29 "There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
    but you surpass them all!"

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
    but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
