Fwd: Verse of the Day 2/27

I apologize, the first time I sent this the verse was not copied completely,

Verse of the Day 2/27

Ephesians 3:17-18  Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  New Living Translation (NLT)

In yesterday's post I mentioned some of the songs that were written by Sidney Cox and how most likely they would be going through my mind through the day.  They did.  One that kept coming back was "Deep and Wide".   It was probably one of the songs that I learned early in my childhood.  Reading the simple, yet powerful words, I couldn't help but remember those weeks in Sunday School when we would sing "deep and wide, deep and wide, there's a fountain flowing deep and wide... deep and wide, deep and wide, there's a fountain flowing deep and wide!"  It was a song that little children learned "the motions" to.

The simple song brought me to today's verses.  For us that remember the song and are reading this post, Christ made His home in your hearts back then and He is still there today.  You've learned to trust Him, your roots have grown down into His love and His love has kept you strong through all that life has thrown at you or will have in store for you.

Read the short passage below, like the Apostle Paul, I pray that He may grant you to know today, the riches of His glory and "how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is."

Ephesians 3:16-19 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

16 I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit, 17 and that the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God's love, 19 and to know the Messiah's love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
