Verse of the Day 10/8

Verse of the Day 10/8

Isaiah 43:11-12
Holman Christian Standard Bible

11 I, I am Yahweh,
and there is no other Savior but Me.
12 I alone declared, saved, and proclaimed—
and not some foreign god[a] among you.
So you are My witnesses"—
this is the Lord's declaration—
"and I am God.

Today's verses came up as the Verse of the Day from Bible Gateway.  Reading them should draw our attention,  God, through the prophet Isaiah, is making a declaration of who He is that is majestic and all encompassing.  In no uncertain terms He is declaring Himself as the only God and Savior.  Think of the things stated here "I alone" declared, saved and proclaimed. He has done this through the ages.

Jesus came to us as God in the flesh, the Word made flesh and dwelt among us.  Showed us that He is the way, the truth, and the life.  He was born, died, rose again and conquered death that those of us put our faith and trust in Him alone may live with Him eternally.

In another devotional this morning, I read Matthew 11:28 - 30, where Jesus said "come to me all you are heavy laden and I will give you rest'.  Now think about that.  Our Savior, the only Savior calls us to Himself to give us peace and rest for our souls in; through; and beyond the trials in our lives.

Matthew 11:28-30. Holman Christian Standard Bible. 28 "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

What are you facing today?  Yahweh, the only true God and our Savior is calling you to Himself today, to give you rest for your soul.  Praise Him, praise to God from whom all blessings flow.

Blessings,
Mike

Isaiah 43:10-13
English Standard Version

10 "You are my witnesses," declares the Lord,
    "and my servant whom I have chosen,
that you may know and believe me
    and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
    nor shall there be any after me.
11 I, I am the Lord,
    and besides me there is no savior.
12 I declared and saved and proclaimed,
    when there was no strange god among you;
    and you are my witnesses," declares the Lord, "and I am God.
13 Also henceforth I am he;
    there is none who can deliver from my hand;
    I work, and who can turn it back?"
