Verse of the Day 5/6

Good morning,

Most everyone would have at least been aware of the recent royal wedding.  It was all over the news.  Imagine if you had been there in London.  What would you have done if you had for some reason, not your own, been invited to the wedding reception?  Would you have accepted the invitation, and if you did, how would you have prepared for it?

For today's verse we'll continue with our "beatitude" verses in Revelation.  This time we'll go to Revelation 19 where we read:

Rev 19:9 Then he said to me, "Write:'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!'" And he said to me,"These are the true sayings of God".  NKJV

If we are His, we have such an invitation, its not too good to be true, "these are the true sayings of God".

For an idea of who else would be on the invited list you can go to Matthew 8:11

Matt 8:11 And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.    NKJV

Think of all of the saints mentioned in Hebrews 11, the great "hall of faith", think of others through the ages, Luther, Calvin, Moody the list goes on.  Wouldn't you want to be there to spend some time with them to hear their stories and be surprised that they want to hear yours?

Think of what we've considered over the past few days, "standing passionately patient, those who've been preparing for the event.  Are you on the list?  How are you preparing for the event?

Give some thought to it this weekend.  If there is any question, ask the Lord for an invitation, seek Him, be prepared for the event of all ages.

Blessings,

Mike

Rev 19:5-10

5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying,"Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!"

6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!

7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."

8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

9 Then he said to me, "Write:'Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!'" And he said to me,"These are the true sayings of God."

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me,"See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

NKJV
