Verse of the Day 11/10

Verse of the Day 11/10

Hebrews 6:19-20 We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened??to the mercy seat which sits in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold, 20??and where Jesus, our forerunner, has gone in before us. He is now and forever our royal Priest like Melchizedek. The Passion Translation (TPT)

Many in today's society look upon Christianity, the Christian faith as an anchor, but one that weighs them down, holds them back from pursuing what would make them happy.?? Today's verses reveal that our hope and faith in God are a different kind of anchor, it is one that holds us, keeps us close to our God and His mercy and gives us encouragement.

When the storms of life come; and they will come; those who have ignored God, ignored the faith; won't have anything to hold onto.?? When they reach for something it will be anything but God; they'll put their trust and hopes in any number of things that will leave them shipwrecked.

Our hope is a strong unbreakable anchor holding us, keeping us connected in our souls, in the depths of our very being, to Jesus who, through His sacrifice tore the veil and entered the most holy place where He intercedes for us.

Hebrews 6:18b?? And now we have run into his heart to hide ourselves in his faithfulness. This is where we find his strength and comfort, for he empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time???an unshakeable hope!?? The Passion Translation (TPT)

Hebrews 6:16-20??New King James Version (NKJV)

16??For men indeed swear by the greater, and??an oath for confirmation??is??for them an end of all dispute.??17??Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to??the heirs of promise??the??[a]immutability of His counsel,??[b]confirmed??it??by an oath,??18??that by two??[c]immutable things, in which it??is??impossible for God to??lie, we??[d]might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope??set before??us.

19??This??hope??we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast,??and which enters the??Presence??behind the veil,??20??where the forerunner has entered for us,??even??Jesus,??having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
