Verse of the Day 5/16

Verse of the Day 5/16

Zephaniah 3:17
New King James Version

17 The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."

I read today's verse the other day in a devotional and it has been on my mind and I wanted to share it with you.  We live in a world of turmoil, internationally, ratially, politically and personally.  Today's verse is one that can bring comfort to us at any time, but especially in "days like these".  Look at the promises mentioned here for the believer.  God reveals His presence, His power and His protection over us.  He is not a god who is far off, He is our God who is with us and for us.

Our God is mighty to save, He is almighty, which is all powerful.  Nothing can stand in His way or prevent Him from accomplishing His purposes. But somehow, amidst our personal turmoil, we often forget.  Let us not forget.

Psalm 103:2
New King James Version

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:

Take some time today to think of His benefits.  Beginning with our sslvation in Jesus Christ.

1 We have heard the joyful sound:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Spread the tidings all around:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to ev'ry land,
Climb the steeps and cross the waves;
Onward! 'tis our Lord's command;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Blessings,
Mike

Zephaniah 3:14-17
New King James Version

Joy in God's Faithfulness

14 Sing, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has taken away your judgments,
He has cast out your enemy.
The King of Israel, the Lordis in your midst;
You shall [a]see disaster no more.

16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem:
"Do not fear;
Zion, let not your hands be weak.
17 The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."
