Verse of the Day 5/17

Verse of the Day 5/17

Psalm 57:7-8
New King James Version

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise.
Awake, my glory!
Awake, lute and harp!
I will awaken the dawn.

I read today's Psalm in my devotions this morning while sitting on the back porch looking out into the yard with light diffused through the trees into multiple shades of green.  The birds were singing out in praise of the glorious morning.  I was blessed to be out there experiencing it and moreso blessed to be spending time in God's Word.

In this Psalm, David is expressing his devotion to the Lord.  He has set out to begin his day reading and writing, praising God with his mind, his heart and his mouth in song.  It was not just his emotions, it involved his intellect and inner self as well.  His heart is stirred to the point that he can't help but praise God and to share it with the world. It all started with carving out time to do so.

How about you, do you regularly carve out time to spend with God in His Word, in prayer and in praise?  May you experience the wonder of it all.

There's the wonder of sunset at evening,
The wonder as sunrise I see;
But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul
Is the wonder that God loves me.

O, the wonder of it all! The wonder of it all!
Just to think that God loves me.
O, the wonder of it all! The wonder of it all!
Just to think that God loves me.

There's the wonder of springtime and harvest,
The sky, the stars, and the sun;
But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul
Is a wonder that's just begun.

O, the wonder of it all! The wonder of it all!
Just to think that God loves me.
O, the wonder of it all! The wonder of it all!
Just to think that God loves me
Just to think that God loves me

Blessings,
Mike

Psalm 57:7-11
New King James Version

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and give praise.
Awake, my glory!
Awake, lute and harp!
I will awaken the dawn.

I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing to You among the

nations.
10 For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,
And Your truth unto the clouds.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
Let Your glory be above all the earth.
