Verse of the Day - weekend 3/`1

Through the Bible - Deuteronomy 23-28, Mark 15

Good morning,
Why is it that it can seem to be so "hard" for us as Christians to folllow Christ consistently and why is He so easily rejected by unbelievers?
In 2 Corinthians 4 the apostle Paul gives us at least one answer, one that is easy to recognize in today's society.

2 Cor. 4:4 For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.  Amplified Bible

The god of this dark world has blinded unbelievers and distracts even believers with the lust for "more".  But He gives us the grace the power to overcome the darkness if we will follow Him.

   6For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
7However, we possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.

We have the gift from God, we carry it around in flawed, earthen vessels, our bodies, our lives are "cracked pots".  The beautiful thing is that when He shines, people will recognize and attest to the fact that it is His light that is shining, it is not of ourselves.

Today's verse comes from the often neglected book of Numbers.  It is a God's instruction to Moses on how he should speak to and bless the His people.  May His Word, His love shine on, in and through you this weekend.

Num 6:24 "The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace."'
NKJV
In Christ,

Num 6:22-7:1

The Priestly Blessing

22 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 23 "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them:

24 "The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace."'

27 "So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them."

NKJV
