Through the Bible -Proverbs 7-10, 1 Corinthians 15:35-16:24
Good morning,
I had a verse in mind for this morning, but as I walked out onto the back porch this morning for my devotions, I saw the sun shining, the blue skies (low humidity), and a temperature in the low 60's and thought "what a glorious day".
Days like this should serve as a reminder of a glorious day when God sent His Son Jesus into the world. Because of what He did for us we can look forward to another glorious day when He returns.
Living, he loved me; dying, he saved me;

In preparation for worship this long holiday weekend, read all verses to the hymn (quoted above) "One Day He's Coming" below. As with orther hymns through the ages and some modern songs/hymns, it reminds us of the object of our faith and how blessed we are to be "in" Christ Jesus.

Gal 4:4-7 But when the time arrived that was set by God the Father, God sent his Son, born among us of a woman, born under the conditions of the law so that he might redeem those of us who have been kidnapped by the law. Thus we have been set free to experience our rightful heritage. You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as his own children because God sent the Spirit of his Son into our lives crying out, "Papa! Father!" Doesn't that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child? And if you are a child, you're also an heir, with complete access to the inheritance.
