Verse of the Day 12/16

Verse of the Day 12/16

Galatians 4:4-5
New King James Version

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

When we think of the fullness of time, we may often think of a pregnancy. The life began at conception and as time passes it is evident that it is on the way to fulfillment right up to the time of birth. You can't go back and start over. In the passage, the time had arrived, the "long expected" Savior has been born bringing hope, peace, joy and leading to everlasting life.

In the passage we see references to the Trinity.  God sent His son, Jesus, to be born and God sent His Spirit into our hearts singing "Abba Father". The great thing about this gift to us is that through faith in Him, we are now sons and heirs through God.  As verse seven states below we are no longer slaves, we are children of God.

From my mothers womb You have chosen me Love has called my name I've been born again, into a family Your blood flows through my veins I'm no longer a slave to fear I am a child of God.                    (No Longer Slaves - Bethel Music)

Blessings,
Mike

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.  NIV

Galatians 4:1-7
New King James Version

Sons and Heirs Through Christ

Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born[a] of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, [b]"Abba, Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir [c]of God through Christ.
