Verse of the Day 12/26

Verse of the Day 12/26

1 John 4:4
New King James Version

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

I've previously stated that one of my favorite lines of any of the Christmas hymns is from "O Holy Night" which says "a thrill of hope".  In a weary world we need hope and as we move beyond Christmas and head towards the New Year, we need hope.

As we make plans for what we want to accomplish in the new year and as we make new year's resolutions, we need to hold onto that hope that we have had over these last days and over the years.  Today's verses are a reminder of that, no matter what it is that we face, if we have Christ in us we can overcome, we can accomplish anything that He wants us to do.

If you are unsure of where to turn for help in meeting the challenges, turn or "Cry Out to Jesus".

And to all of the people with burdens and pains Keeping you back from your life You believe that there's nothing and there is no one Who can make it right There is hope for the helpless Rest for the weary And love for the broken heart And there is grace and forgiveness Mercy and healing He'll meet you wherever you are Cry out to Jesus Cry out to Jesus                        (Cry Out to Jesus - Third Day)

Blessings,
Mike

Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.  NIV

1 John 4:1-6
New King James Version

Love for God and One Another

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess [a]that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
