Verse of the Day 3/15

Verse of the Day 3/15

Deuteronomy 33:26-27
New King James Version

26 "There is no one like the God of Jeshurun,
Who rides the heavens to help you,
And in His excellency on the clouds.
27 The eternal God is your refuge,
And underneath are the everlasting arms;
He will thrust out the enemy from before you,
And will say, 'Destroy!'

We recently considered Romans 11:36 where we are told that "of Him and through Him and to Him are all things".  I've been thinking about that all week and relating it to Romans 8 and the "all things" statements there.  He is with us through all things. He knows where we are, what we have and what we need.  We don't.  We need to seek Him and trust that He will provide and it will not always be easy.  But we can make it through because underneath all of these things we have the everlasting arms of the Good Shepherd.

We won't find comfort, rest or hope in any other god or belief.  We must lean on and trust the support of those everlasting arms, holding us up when we can't hold our own.

1 What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
what a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain:
Leaning, leaning,
safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning,
leaning on the everlasting arms.

2 O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
leaning on the everlasting arms. [Refrain]

3 What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
leaning on the everlasting arms. [Refrain]

As you lean, realize that He is there and He is "so near". Reach out to Him, He's reaching out to you.  Hmmm, there seems to be another song in there.

Blessings,
Mike

Deuteronomy 33:26-28
New King James Version

26 "There is no one like the God of Jeshurun,
Who rides the heavens to help you,
And in His excellency on the clouds.
27 The eternal God is your refuge,
And underneath are the everlasting arms;
He will thrust out the enemy from before you,
And will say, 'Destroy!'
28 Then Israel shall dwell in safety,
The fountain of Jacob alone,
In a land of grain and new wine;
His heavens shall also drop dew.
