Verse of the Day 3/21

  Verse of the Day 3/21

Revelation 1:5-6
New King James Version

and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.

To Him who [a]loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

In today's passage John is writing a greating to the 7 churches outlined in Revelation 2 -3.  He sums up some of the things that we have "in Christ".  He loved us and washed us from our sins,bringing, forgiveness,  salvation, peace through the power of His Spirit working in us.  He has made us kings and priests, servants to God for His glory.

I was still thinking of the "Wonderful Grace of Jesus" that I posted yesterday and the line "broader than the scope of my transgressions, greater far than all my sin and shame", purchasing peace and heaven for all eternity".

Heading towards Palm Sunday and then the Holy Week, how can we not lift up praise to Him who has loved us and cleansed us by His own shed blood. May we "to His temple draw near."

1 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is your health and salvation!
Come, all who hear; now to his temple draw near,
join me in glad adoration.

2 Praise to the Lord, above all things so wondrously reigning;
sheltering you under his wings, and so gently sustaining!
Have you not seen all that is needful has been
sent by his gracious ordaining?

3 Praise to the Lord, who will prosper your work and defend you;
surely his goodness and mercy shall daily attend you.
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
if with his love he befriends you.

4 Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
All that has life and breath, come now with praises before him.
Let the Amen sound from his people again;
gladly forever adore him.

Blessings,
Mike

Revelation 1:4-8
New King James Version

Greeting the Seven Churches

John, to the seven churches which are in Asia:

Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth.

To Him who [a]loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us [b]kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, [c]the Beginning and the End," says the [d]Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
