Verse of the Day 3/27

Verse of the Day 3/27

Isaiah 45:7
New International Version

I form the light and create darkness,
    I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the Lord, do all these things.

Our Tuesday Men's Bible study has been going through the miracles of Jesus.  Each of them shows Jesus' power and authority over various aspects of creation.  We see His power over nature when He calmed the see in Mark 4.  We saw His power over the elements in His turning water into wine.  We saw His power over illness and disablility ih healing the man with the withered hand and raising the paralytic. We saw His power of the spiritual world as He cast out the demons out of one who was possessed by thousands of demons.  We saw not only His power put on display but His power and authoritiy to "de'fuse" power.

Today's verse is a reminder of the power and authority of God in all of creation and in the day to day circumstances in our lives.

As I right this, storms are rolling through the area.  Clouds will darken the sky but God has created it and He will also bring back the blue skies.  So it is with our lives.  In all of these things He deserves our praise, for we know the Lord does all things.  It's His breath our lungs, so let's pour out our prasie.

You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken

PRECHORUS
Great are You, Lord

CHORUS
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise, We pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only

VERSE 2
You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken

BRIDGE
All the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing
Great are You, Lord.                                    (Great Are You Lord - Casting Crowns)

Blessings,
Mike

Isaiah 45
New International Version

45 "This is what the Lord says to his anointed,
to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him
and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
so that gates will not be shut:
I will go before you
    and will level the mountains
I will break down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.
I will give you hidden treasures,
    riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
For the sake of Jacob my servant,
    of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me,
so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting
people may know there is none besides me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I form the light and create darkness,
    I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the Lord, do all these things.
