Verse of the Day - weekend 11/6

Through the Bible -  Jeremiah 46-50, Hebrews 6:13 - 7:10

Good morning,
I've shared before some words that helped and encouraged me in the dark hours, to learn to be a "see through-er and not a look-at-er".  In my devotions this morning I read and thought of something that goes hand in hand with "seeing through" it is the thought of "walking through".  Its putting action to the seeing.
For today's verse we'll go to what I hope is a familiar passage in Isaiah 43.

Isa 43:2 When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
3 For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.  NLT

The verses take me back to Psalm 23:

Ps 23:4 Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.  NLT

Whether we're going through deep waters of despair, rivers of difficulty, fires of oppression or the darkest valleys of illness or loss, Jesus is there with us, to see us through, walking with us through it.

Never Let Go - Matt Redman

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when *I'm* caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I *won't* turn back
I know You are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

Chorus:
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
*We'll* live to know You here on the earth

Chorus:

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

Many of us are going on the Hike for Hope this morning, taking a "walk in the park" to bring hope to some that may be in the valley.  Wherever you are today, may you help someone see the Light that is coming.
In Christ,
Mike

Isa 43:1-8

The Savior of Israel

43 1 But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you.
O Israel, the one who formed you says,
"Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you.
I have called you by name; you are mine.
2 When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you.
3 For I am the Lord, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom;
I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
4 Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you.

5 "Do not be afraid, for I am with you.
I will gather you and your children from east and west.
6 I will say to the north and south,
'Bring my sons and daughters back to Israel
from the distant corners of the earth.
7 Bring all who claim me as their God,
for I have made them for my glory.
It was I who created them.'  NLT
