Verse of the Day 8/9

Verse of the Day 8/9
Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. English Standard Version (ESV)
We've been considering how God is with us wherever we are, even while we sleep, and that He is there to lead us when we call upon Him, when we seek Him, and it should be our practice to seek Him, His will daily in our lives. We find that guidance through His Word and in prayer and by the quidance of the Spirit.
Those thoughts led me to Hebrews 4:12 and that the Word is "living and active". It does a work in us as we read, study and meditate on it. This leads to today's verse and drawing near "with confidence", counting on His grace and mercy to be with us in time of need.
David Jeremiah writes, "He is active and living and vital, and so is His work in our lives. Take a moment today to reflect on God's unending grace and His unmatched glory."
John Piper writes, "So, come. Come boldly (Hebrews 4:16). Come expectantly. Come expecting a smile. Come trembling with joy, not dread....Jesus is saying, "I have made a way to God. Now I am not going to get in the way." Come."
May we draw near today and every day, He is there with help, for my family, my spouse, my children, my anxieties, my job, my health, my finances, or whatever your cares may be.
Blessings,
Mike
Hebrews 4:11-16 New Living Translation (NLT)
11 So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.
Christ Is Our High Priest
14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
