Verse of the Day 5/4

Verse of the Day 5/4

Galatians 6:9-10  So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don't give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.  Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Dealing with everything surrounding the Corona virus can wear us out, tired of the day to day challenges and uncertainties.  Today's verses remind us that there are things that we should never grow tired of and that is to be doing good.  How many times has it lifted your spirit to do something good for someone?  Doing good for others has a double benefit, it is good for you and good for the recipient.  When you think about it the benefits are actually threefold, when done in the name of Christ they can bring honor and glory to Him.

Even for those who are on "lockdown" there are things that can be done.  Prayer is one we can start with and we can let others know through social media and text messages to let them know that we are praying for them.  We can give of our time and we can be creative in finding ways to be good to others, especially those who are of the "household" of faith.  We're never on "lockdown" alone if we are of the household of faith.

David Jeremiah writes, "God has done so much for us. We should never become weary in doing good for Him. Make up your mind to stay enthused, determined, and active in whatever task God gives you today. Never grow weary in doing good. It's always too soon to quit."

Out in the highways and byways
Many are weary and sad;
I want to bring some sunshine
To make the down hearted glad
Some loss soul is dying
Some one in despairI want to let them know that there's someone who cares

Make me a blessing,
Make me a blessing Out of my life Let Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing to some one today

In the mist of depression
Lord give me words to say
Little deeds of kindness to send them on the way
A carrier of good news, that what I want to be
I just want to be a little light,
So that some one else can see

Make me a blessing, Make me a blessing,
Out of my life let Jesus shine
Make me a blessing today
What I want you to do
Use me Lord, use in your own way
Use me Lord, in Your service I pray

Galatians 6:7-10 The Message (MSG)

7-8 Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

9-10 So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.
