Verse of the Day 3/13

Verse of the Day 3/13

Ephesians 3:19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.  English Standard Version (ESV)

I've posted verses from this passage quite often over the years as the "verse of the day" but I don't recall posting this verse on it's own.  It may go overlooked in comparison to the other verses, but it was brought to my attention today in a devotional from Charles Stanley where he wrote:

"A "whole person" is generally satisfied with life. He feels loved and is able to love others in return. Difficulties and hardships don't devastate him, because he is able to go through them with confidence in God. He isn't a complainer or someone who is quick to blame others. A positive attitude guards his mind since he knows that the Lord will work everything out for good." (Romans 8:28)

Romans 8:28And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. New King James Version (NKJV)

Most people would say that they desire a "full life", but their definitions of that would vary greatly.  Today's verse made me stop and consider what that meant in relation to Romans 8:28 which I have considered to be my "life verse".  God is in control of all things and if you read Romans 8:26 to 39 you will find all things mentioned 3 times concluding with the statement "in all things we are more than conquerors".  The person who can say that is the person who, through God's grace, can be satisfied with life, having confidence in God that He will see you through and bring you through anything to be with Him in the end.

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  New King James Version (NKJV)

In whatever situation you find yourself in today, my prayer for you would be that you would "know" and experience the love of Christ and be filled with the fullness of God.

Blessings,

Mike

Ephesians 3:14-21 New King James Version (NKJV)

Appreciation of the Mystery

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father [a]

of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
