Verse of the Day 4/25

Verse of the Day 4/25

Luke 22:43   An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.  New International Version (NIV)

In our global society and in the days of this pandemic, many people are going through trials.  For some it will be the greatest trial and challenge of their lives.  There are concerns, worries and anxieties relating to health, finances, job security and a host of other things.  There is plenty to go around.  In today's passage Jesus is in the midst of the trial of His earthly life and He calls to His Father for strength and look at the response.  His Father sent an angel to strengthen Him.

We may not be able to look back in our lives and see where an angel came and ministered to us, but I hope that we can all think of people who have come alongside of us in tough times.  They may have been family, friends or even strangers, who knows, we may have had angels to minister to us.

David Jeremiah writes, "We may not audibly hear the voice of an angel, but who knows the multitude of ways they can encourage us with unseen strength just when we need it.  Perhaps they arrange circumstances, extend help, divert attacks, and bring blessings to us, which, if we only realized it, came from their hands.  Thank God for His angelic esncouragers!"

Do you need help today, call out to Jesus.  He may send a friend or family member that you need to encourage you, who knows He may send an angel to strengthen you or use an angel" to arrange circumstances, extend help, divert attacks, and bring blessings to us" in all of life's ebb and flow.

1. There's within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low:
Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still,
in all of life's ebb and flow.
Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
sweetest name I know,
fills my every longing,
keeps me singing as I go.

3. Though sometimes he leads through waters deep,
trials fall across the way,
though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
see his footprints all the way.
(Refrain)

4. Feasting on the riches of his grace,
resting neath his sheltering wing,
always looking on his smiling face,
that is why I shout and sing.
(Refrain)

Luke 22:42-44 New King James Version (NKJV)

42 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." 43 [a]Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. 44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
