Verse of the Day 4/5

Psalm 20:6-7  Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed:
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.  English Standard Version (ESV)

This morning in a devotional from John Piper I read the following statement, "He is alive to save, He is alive to give.  And He is thrilled to be this way."

We ended yesterday with the song He Lives.  The statement is all about that, He lives to save, He lives to give, He lives to forgive, He lives to teach, and to guide "along life's narrow way".

I read today's verses In my daily reading in Psalms this morning I thought back to the song He Lives and John Piper's statement.  He does all those things for those who put their faith and trust in Him.  Sadly, way too many in today's society will put their trust in chariots and horses, relating to today it might be fast cars, monster trucks, or anything else that we lean on or give our devotion to in seeking happiness.

Referring back to Easter, we should be able to say with the Psalmist, Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed.  Hopefully, you can say that I trust in the name of the Lord my God, He is mighty to save, He has saved me, and is living in me to deliver me, to give, to forgive, to teach and to guide.  What does it mean to you that Jesus is thrilled to do so?

Mark 10:45  For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."  English Standard Version (ESV)

In Christ,
Mike

Psalm 20:5-7

English Standard Version (ESV)

May we shout for joy over your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!

Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
