Verse of the Day 1/3

Verse of the Day 1/3

Psalm 103:1-2
New King James Version

Praise for the Lord's Mercies

A Psalm of David.

103 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:

In recent posts, we've been considering God's presence.  Today's verses and Psalm 103 in general reveal some of the benefits of having God's presence and influence in our lives.  David encourages us to "forget not His benefits", don't forget what He has done for us, and then lists some of those benefits beginning with the forgiveness of sin.  Fromt there he goes onto healing and recovery from sickness; deliverance from death; God's overflowing love and mecry; and spiritual food to sustain us every day of our lives.

Read the rest of the passage below or all of Psalm 103.  As you do, I'm sure that other passages will come to mind such as Isaiah 40:28-31 and the "wings of eagles" or Romans 8 where Paul and us as well can realize that "nothing can separate us from the love of Christ".

Spend some time today thinking of and praising God, from the depths of our sfor "all His benefits".He is God in three persons "blessed Trinity".

1 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

2 Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim, falling down before Thee,
which wert and art and evermore shalt be.

3 Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee,
though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see;
only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee,
perfect in pow'r, in love, and purity.

4 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth and sky and sea;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Blessings,
Mike

Psalm 103:1-5
New King James Version

Praise for the Lord's Mercies

A Psalm of David.

103 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
